This presentation explores the role of video materials in the process of teaching English to young leaders. It begins by highlighting how technology, and multimedia in particular, has transformed English language teaching, replacing traditional methods with more interactive and effective approaches. Multimedia is presented as a unifying tool that combines elements of nearly all historical language-teaching approaches (grammar-translation, direct, audio-lingual, communicative, and others), increasing student motivation, engagement, and active participation in the classroom. Special attention is given to the challenges of teaching young learners/leaders, who are naturally energetic and have short attention spans, requiring teachers to select age-appropriate, enjoyable, and carefully chosen materials. The presentation discusses Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and the growing role of multimedia components within it, emphasizing that the effectiveness of video materials depends not only on their selection but also on how actively and purposefully they are used in class.
